Another Snow Painting

In late January Nashville got about 3 inches of snow. Snowfall does not always stick to the branches, but this time it did, creating a "winter wonderland" of frosty white woods. Foreground shapes were sharp and crystalline, and further back, they merged into an endless silvery mass. Tree trunks within that mass were soft and indistinct, as if fading into a mist.

  1. This painting is really great Lisa.. I keep seeing it pop up on my recent posts on my 'dashboard'.. very striking. I love how the fence was handled. It is a great compliment to the soft trees..

  2. Thank you, Tiffany. I feel I fell short of the beauty I was seeing, but nature can be hard to match! I'm starting to like fences now that I've discovered I can do the fine wires with a palette knife...fun!
